Our second day in Brisbane takes place entirely in the CBD.

Parliament House Philip plots our route through the Botanic Gardens. The skyscrapers loom over the gardens. Despite evidence to the contrary, this is Philip, not Belky. A good example of a banyan fig tree

with Philip to give you an idea of scale. A branch terminates in roots which seek the ground. Meanwhile, a nearby tree flaunts its blossoms at the fig trees. Just a nice random view. And the banyan's more subdued cousin, the Moreton Bay fig tree.

It sports a dandy staghorn fern. Old Government House It seems to draw quite a crowd. Did I mention that all of this is near the Queensland University of Technology? And it's got one venue that Gwen's not seen!

We find our way down to the Mangrove Boardwalk and spot hundreds of mud crabs! This view reminds me of the Tennesse River. Even the Coast Guard (pdf link) likes to sightsee. Different view.
