King and Gwen DVDs

Here's a quick-n-dirty list of the DVDs we've produced and which we are currently circulating. (Offers are posted earlier at the relevant messageboards such as the Kevn Kinney's STAR and Drivin' n' Cryin' ones--why not check there and join the community--BY POSTING!) If you'd like a copy of anything on this list, simply send an e-mail to king@drivinncryin.com stating what you'd like (be specific, and if requesting by date, include the year!) and a postal address (please separate your address onto multiple lines--it's not always clear how an address parses!) where you'd like it sent. All discs are NTSC, region-free, and unprotected, and each disc contains all the artwork you need to duplicate it. Opening acts for the shows, when included, are listed parenthetically. This is an entirely gratis offer.

And as a side-note, the Kevllection series is really just for completists (or if you were at the show). Videos in the Kevllection come from other sources and, in general, don't come with any of the extras you'll find in the other sets. Most of our time and attention goes into producing the KK/STAR/DnC sets that are NOT part of the Kevllection; you should probably start with those.

And finally, please note that I no longer honor requests that simply ask for "everything". If you want everything, you CAN still get it by enumerating this list in your request. I suspect that many of you who ask for "everything" and haven't been to this page don't really know what you're getting, and by requiring you to specify exactly what you want, you will.

The Connells: Strange Little Arrangement

This is a repackaging of a VHS tape assembled by Art Jipson consisting of bits and pieces of Connells appearances. The main title is a reference to what Doug used to sing in an early version of "Stone Cold Yesterday". The tortured secondary title's pun is all my fault.

The "Old Grey Whistle Test" was a long-running (16 years) music show on the BBC featuring many live performances and a variable run time (one of the benefits of being the last show of the night on BBC2). This episode seems inspired by the "Welcome to Comboland" album which is really a fabulous time capsule of the circa-1986 North Carolina independent music scene. If anyone's got a complete or better version of this episode, please contact me!
